Galerie Lumières d'Afrique is proud to present an exhibition with two artists from the Dominican Republic:

Marcos Guerra, a contemporary painter, and Titua, a sculptor who uses metal and recycled parts.

The exhibition will focus on the relation between both artist's cultural heritage and the influence of Africa in the Caribbean. 

 

Marcos Guerra, was born in Santo Domingo, in the Dominican Republic. 

He graduated in Fine Art from the University Pedro Henriquez Ureña, and subsequently studied 

for four years with the Dominican Master Painter Guillo Perez. He lives between Belgium and the Dominican Republic.

He has had many solo exhibitions and participated in countless group shows worldwide. 

 

Nelson Martín Vásquez Reyes, Titua as his artist's name, has been graduated

from the National School of Fine Arts from Santo Domingo, period 1992 - 1998. 

After further education at the Altos de Chavón school, he participated in several group shows

and had his first solo exhibition in 2010.
